Foiled by Adobe once again. I had planned to update the PDF with our group's outcome (which can be found here) but Adobe, being Adobe, thwarted my attempt to edit the PDF in a direct way (even with a free trial of their editor). The text I wanted to add was too large and required export. Renewing InDesign is something I'm not going to do until I (perhaps) begin layout work on the Castle of the Silver Prince. So, sadly, the account of our group's exploits will have to live on the blog and not in the PDF for the time being. Should I ever have need of InDesign for the Silver Prince material, I will update the PDF for DHONP at that time...but that does seem like a long way out at this juncture. So there you have it. Here, without further excuses, is the link the PDF version of Dream House of the Nether Prince: https://www.lulu.com/en/us/shop/anthony-huso/dream-house-of-the-nether-prince-digital/ebook/product-8de6mk.html?page=1&pageSize=4

idle chit chat w/ one of my players prompts the question, is the Blue Oyster Cult hook and cross really that subtle in the City of Brass map?

What you are looking at here is a still unfinished and flattened PSP image containing 8 layers from the top most towers to dungeon level one. This will likely class as a mega dungeon suitable for Level 0 thru 8; with the initial points of contact being entry level and the deeper you go, the more troublesome it becomes. With the Dream House out of the way, I have to turn once again to low level adventures; primarily because all the big characters in the campaign will be suffering from the time dilation of the The City of Brass. Therefore, we will turn our gaze back to humble beginnings...but not humble settings. I have some strong ideas for the Silver Castle that, hopefully, should lure players back to the same location without it becoming tired. My confidence in this regard has been bolstered somewhat by the fact that my players have already spent TEN sessions in the City of Brass and, rather than hastening to depart, are drilling down further. I suspect they will not leave prior to 14 sessions. Anyway, this new thing I'm tackling is meant to be more friendly to comings and goings...potentially luring the new batch of novice PCs intermittently over the course of their tumultuous and perilous young levels...back time and again to dare some new threshold, discover some new secret, and piece together another part of the puzzle. The scope of this is far bigger than anything I've done beyond the Night Wolf Inn. Thankfully I have time because my players are still in the City of Brass. Hope your Holidays are wonderful. Peace and happy gaming.

Adventuring in a Fabled City of Brass can drive you insane. After TEN sessions, it looks like that's exactly what's happened. One of my players is rendering the map in 3D so you'll be able to wander around in VR. So cool. So loony-tunes cool.

This mini isn't easy to locate, but I was adamant that it was time for Tiamat to live in my collection and that (out of all possible Tiamat models) I wanted Ral Partha's version.

This Planescape Mini from Ral Partha is fairly hard to find. It's also so incredibly tiny.

Looked for a proper behir mini for years. Not perfect, but WizKids' version was a good enough base shape that I could build up the head, add the antennae and lengthen the fangs. Voila!

The Artwork I commissioned for the Night Wolf Inn is SO hi rez and wonderful quality that I printed it out on matte photo paper and had it framed for the game room. Plaque reads "Night Wolf Inn". It is a thing of beauty. And here it is w/ the other goodies:

This is a great short-sweet article that's spot on. I wish more people got it. I wish more people appreciated the challenges. https://owenkcstephens.com/2020/07/06/if-the-rpg-industry-is-so-terrible-why-do-i-do-this/

Proof that I really am a game designer, wherein I say things on camera (I show up several times but for sure about the 7 minute mark). J/K...I know you never doubted. But also, if you love Arkane Studios, this one's for you:

Robert J. Kuntz "To the City of Brass" map using Cone of Negativity's Hex Kit. I needed a color version for the VTT, since my players are headed that way now! https://www.dropbox.com/s/fbeq89n8melmfgl/To%20The%20City%20of%20Brass.png?dl=0

While re-watching the cartoons, this very short scene from episode 8 "Servant of Evil" leapt out at me as being strikingly suggestive of a relationship between Hank and Diana. Striking because of the times and because it feels like it went under the radar. Even though Diana clearly falls for the "other" Child of the Stargazer in a much later episode, I don't think of the episodes as ultra-cohesive fiction. I love imagining that this scene was slipped in.

I made a proper poster of the map and included an abbreviated key for quick reference. You should be able to download it and use it at POD sites such as Vista Print. Size is 24" x 36" so make sure the poster you make is correctly sized. This is free from me to you. Enjoy! Click the image!
