@Anthony: Not necessarily the very top, but definitely a favorite. Their earlier work involved Michael Moorcock, both thematically as well as a writer/performer with the band. My favorites:
- X In Search of Space
- Space Ritual
- Hall of the Mountain Grill
- Warrior on the Edge of Time
- Quark, Strangeness, and Charm
- Chronicle of the Black Sword
- Electric Tepee
- Love in Space
Space Ritual is their quintessential early sound, while Lemmy was still in the band. It's a live triple album. Hall and Warrior and Quark are most-often in heavy rotation for me.
If you like Moorcock-influenced BOC, you should give HW a try---the two were paired bands on the old boc-l email list that I've been on and off off since I was an undergrad ;)
I haven't read Night Wolf Inn yet. I purchased it along with Zjelwin Fall and Geir Loe Cyn-Crul but spent the evening reading the latter two. Very nice!
So, do you also like Hawkwind, Anthony and bkad2005?
Allan.
Seven years of labor!
I'm guessing we might share a favorite album.
Reading Night Wolf Inn now. Ha! The Four Winds Bar!
The night wolf in is FULL of them. And if you haven't looked closely at the city of brass map, look again. 😝
