Anthony, in your initiative/combat system (which I adore btw) does a melee attack take up a segment of time?
Scenario 1: The fighter wins initiative with 2 segments of activity before initiative changes over, if he begins within melee range, can he make an attack and then move for 2 segments, or does the attack take up a segment and he could only move 1 segment before initiative changes?
Scenario 2: The fighter wins initiative with 2 segments of activity before initiative changes over, he finds himself 2 segments of movement away before being within melee range of a spellcaster who is casting a 2 segment casting time spell. Will he get there in time to attempt to disrupt the spell?
Many thanks for the rapid response and for inserting the charge example/explanation as well. Happy gaming! 😉
Yes. I assume the attack itself occupies one segment and consumes it so to speak. Caveat is that if a charge is initiated, and the fighter (let's say) arrives at the M-U at the end of the second segment, I allow the attack to be rolled on the second segment--thus potentially disrupting a spell w/ casting time 2+.
