Indeed. Extended encounter tables sound terrific!
Only in scheduling disastery thus far---we're on temporary hiatus until January due to insane work schedules (juggling interviewing + work is a necessary evil atm), travel among the players, and holiday travel/schedules (we're visiting my family in NJ over Christmas break, COVID-permitting).
We've played two sessions in the Astral Plane en-route to ZF thus far, and I think that the third will see the PCs arriving fine. I should blog a bit about my expanded encounter tables and how I'm interpreting the plane, sometime....
